Welcome to the 2010 edition of Highside... Its been a long winter but we are back, excited and raring to go as the superbike racing season begins in earnest this weekend at Philip Island, Australia.
Donington Off

As many of you doubtless already know, Donington Park will not be hosting British Superbike or World Superbike races this year.
In their haste to ready the circuit for possible F1 action, the builders have left the track in a totally unusable state, once the promised money had completely dried up.
New Seasons Approach

With the 2009 seasons now a dim memory it will not be long before the new seasons begin, starting with the World Superbikes in late February.
Come back next month when we relaunch Highside for the start of an exciting 2010 season in British and World Superbikes...
WSBK Championship goes down to the wire

The year-long battle between Haga and Spies continued in France where they shared race wins and Haga takes a ten point lead into the final round.
Haga will be looking for his first world championship after multiple second and third place finishes throughout an otherwise successful superbike career.
Ben Spies is heading to Moto GP next season and will be looking to end his short spell in World Superbikes on a high by taking the championship in his rookie season...

Camier lifts BSB Championship trophy

Congratulations to Leon Camier, who this week became the British Superbike Champion for 2009.
Camier rode magnificently throughout a season which contained 19 race wins and many more podium finishes. He is likely to move up to World Superbikes in 2010 and must now be a wanted man by many teams in the WSB paddock.
Rider shakeup at HM Plant

There has been a lot of disruption to the rider lineup at the HM Plant Honda team in this year's British Superbike Championship.
Karl Muggeridge and Steve Brogan will ride at Brands Hatch after season starters Josh Brookes' suspension and Glen Richards' leg break.
Rutter to replace unlucky Guintoli

A bizzare accident on the sighting lap of race one at Donington Park has left Guintoli with a damaged leg. Michael Rutter wil replace the French rider with his likely comeback race unknown at this stage.

Despite some events being called off because of legal issues at the Donington Park circuit, the organisers have confirmed that the BSB and WSBK rounds will still go ahead as planned.
