British Superbikes
As usual there is an exciting and strong line-up for the British Superbike 2010 season. This season is most notable for its returning riders with Neil Hodgson, Ryuichi Kiyonari and Yukio Kagayama returning to the series where they have had the best successes of their careers. Who would bet against Kiyo or Neil taking another BSB crown this season?
Gary Mason makes the step up from superb privateer to race for the factory MSS Colchester Kawasaki squad alongside experienced charger, Simon Andrews. GSE’s absence from this year’s championship has seen James Ellison move to Honda to partner consistent racer, Stuart Easton. 2009 Superstock Champion Alastair Seeley blew away the competition last year and makes the step up to race for the Relentless Suzuki team alongside fellow Irishman, Michael Laverty.
World Superbikes
As in last year’s championship there is strong British representation in the 2010 World Superbike season. British Superbike Champion, Leon Camier comes into the championship and rides for the factory Aprilia team alongside veteran Max Biaggi. Tom Sykes has moved from Yamaha to Kawasaki and hopes to build on his solid start in WSBK last season.
Historic Honda rider Leon Haslam makes the switch to Suzuki as he aims to push for race wins and hopes to be in the mix for the title at the end of the season. James Toseland returns to the championship on the Yamaha R1 alongside fellow Brit and World Supersport champion, Cal Crutchlow.
Popular Japanese rider and nearly man, Noriyuki Haga returns to the championship aboard the factory-supported Xerox Ducat squad, alongside the consistent Italian, Michel Fabrizio. Other riders likely to be challenging at the front include Carlos Checa aboard a Ducati 1098 and Sylvain Guintoli, team mate to Leon Haslam for Suzuki.
